When you’re a perfectionist, you probably really believe (at least I did!) that you’re just trying to do things well, that you’re just trying to be a good human. The problem is that you might believe you NEED to accomplish certain things to be loved/important/worthy and it often stresses you out – not to mention the people around you. I may or may not be speaking from experience.

Once I truly TRULY internalized the truth that I already was important and loved and worthy and that I didn’t need to achieve or accomplish anything to earn it, I was SO much happier. Now when I want to contribute something to the world, I don’t have the same pressure and expectations because I’m just an imperfect human in an imperfect world trying to bless other imperfect people.

The biggest secret- it’s not about me. I don’t need to be perfect. I don’t have to meet any expectations. I’m loved and I can love and serve without doing it any specific way. I hope these thoughts bless you today! Know that you’re not alone. You ALREADY are loved and important. You have gifts to share with the world and can do it in a perfectly imperfect way. I’ll be right here with you. 😘🙌🏻 xo 💛-Lisa

PS- the podcast I mentioned was Episode 13 on Perfectionism from Monica at @aboutprogress. Its an interview with Dr. Jennifer Finlayson-Fife and it’s so eye opening!!!
